its often said a picture
is worth thousandfold a word
but i suggest it might be best
to contemplate a third
do pictures grasp the splendor
of a lover's gentle sigh ?
or written words, the arcs of birds
that bend their wings on high ?
thus man invented music
with a magic of it's own
to gently weave what we perceive
and make our feelings known
the swell of sweeping violins
the longing of the horn
the rise and fall of heaven's call
into our souls is born
the melody unfolding
is a message that's addressed
directly to the heart of you
and perfectly expressed

I worked at a Chopin concert
I worked at a Chopin concert years ago, and as soon as the Russian pianist began to play, the tears were pumping out of my eyes! It was extraordinary. I had to use my 2 sleeves to wipe my face. And then l ran out next day and bought the concerto's of Chopin. So. I agree with you. Again xx

I ran a Pirate Radio Station
I ran a Pirate Radio Station on and off years ago, mainly mid tempo soul, modern jazz etc. I would be completely lost without my music. Have never thrown an album or single away, the loft and the garage are full of them. But there is something almost religous about playing and listening to them.
It can also take you back to a time and place that you thought you had long forgotten. Long live music.
Sorry, got carried away there Alvin... Great poem...

I loved this poem alvin,
music is so important to me, not only to listen to,
but also to inspire me to write. I cannot imagine
life without music, how sad a world it would be.
Thanks for sharing this one.
wishing you well.
Jenny.
