she told me she got flowers

all the time from her last guy

but then one day discovered

that the whole act was a lie

she plucked a little banner

from a beautiful bouquet

reading "rest in peace dear mother

i'm so sad you passed away"

yes, cemetery flowers

were the gift he brought to me

that made it unromantic

not to mention larceny

it darn near made me crazy

but i managed to get through

neurosis came from that guy

but new roses come from you
