THE NIGHT BEFORE

the things we think are set in stone
may change before our eyes
each day on earth, we live and learn
and strive to grow more wise
.
sometimes this growth will rock us
till we're shaken to the core
the sun that rose was not the one
that set the night before
.
we think that we have things all straight
and then we're thrown a curve
a bending patch of unknown road
in which we're forced to swerve
.
the totals that we added up
were not the final score
the sun that rose was not the one
that set the night before
.
some changes lead to healing
though it feels like at the time
that all the poems you ever knew
were strangely out of rhyme
.
sometimes, those things, unraveled
come back stronger than before
the sun that rose was not the one
that set the night before

I write a lot about the cosmos. It's origins and it's pathway in the future fascinate me. I loved the lines 'the sun that rose
was not the one that set before' which for me remind me of the ever changing dynamic being that the sun is and on a more philosophical note what the sun means to so many.
Loved the poem. I can see why you have received so many cherry picks.
