NOT EXACTLY LOST

we're children of the water
with the ocean in our eyes
we're windblown, wet and barefoot
we hear joy in seagull's cries
.
we're lost without the water
it's an element, we love
it's not a thing we can disguise
and in our pocket, shove
.
we wanted warmer waters
not the sea where we'd been tossed
at last, we found each other
though we weren't exactly lost
.
we're children of the summer
and our temperatures are hot
sometimes, our only language
is a wink, a nod, a thought
.
we're lost without the summer
we don't do well in the cold
if sunshine has been snatched from us
our lives feel uncontrolled
.
we yearned for joys of summers
not the winter's chilly frost
at last, we found each other
though we weren't exactly lost
.
were children of wild passion
and our hearts have been exchanged
our souls have gone into a dance
our bodies, rearranged
.
we're lost if there's no passion
racing hearts just can't be slowed
we've finally intertwined our hands
and headed down the road
.
we wanted trust and passion
not a life where wires were crossed
at last, we found each other
though we weren't exactly lost
