PENGUINOSITY

i'm living as a penguin
near an overbearing sea
i ponder as i'm freezing
"what the hell is wrong with me ?"
we are decked out in tuxedos
prim and formal is our norm
with lots of cool accessories
to keep us nice and warm
we're the white notes and the black notes
stuffed inside an arctic song
we'll form a crazy conga line
and shuffle right along
but yet, i'm multicolored
though it's lying deep within
and you could not perceive it
merely looking at my skin
we walk along an icy coast
bereft of shoes and socks
but my idea of ice
would be some vodka on the rocks
you see a lot of blackness
in a penguin's beady eyes
but if you were to gaze in mine
you'd notice i was wise
in my mind, i'm always soaring
looking for that knowledge tree
for i have not embraced at all
this penguinosity
