POET

some ask me what's a poet ?
i will tell you what i think
it's a skater making curlicues
on once unblemished rinks
or a sky of scattered lightning
like some scribbles scrawled by gods
who roll the dice
with words they splice
and calculate the odds
but as for my own poetry ?
i'll tell you what i think
an octopus most paranoid
just could not waste more ink
