RAINBOWS ON THE MOON

my show was interrupted
by a sudden sharp retort
they broke into my program
for a special news report
.
it seems a group of scientists
who keep an eye on space
had noticed a phenomenon
upon the lunar face
.
the one picked as the spokesman
then approached the microphones
and looking at the camera
he began, in reverent tones
.
in all recorded history
we've never seen a trace
of what we glimpsed just recently
unprecedented case
.
it is a landmark moment
yes, a scientific boon
we're delighted to now tell you
it's been raining on the moon
.
the moon has grown an atmosphere
we cannot tell you why
but there's been clouds appearing
in that inky jet black sky
.
the raindrops are colliding
with that spheroid's chalky dust
and craters are becoming lakes
if instruments we trust
.
the moon of course provides us
with the pulling of our tides
it seems it finally got the nerve
to have their own besides
.
there's been no trace of animals
perhaps in time who knows
when water gives a place rebirth
that's when the wildlife grows
.
we've gathered here together
in this special point in time
a date to live in history
so wonderfully sublime
.
it hasn't happened yet
but we believe that very soon
we just may have some images
of rainbows on the moon
