There was a lad named Nicholas
Who lived up in the north
His parents thought him special
From the day that he came forth
He loved his fellow children
Till he thought it'd break his heart
He strived to make them happy
He was proud to do his part
He grew up to be Santa
He was filled with Christmas joy
He made sure all the children
Would receive their favorite toy
He'd climb up to their rooftop
Down the chimney he would glide
He filled up all the stockings
And then off again, he'd ride
On every Christmas morning
All the children screamed with joy
It seemed that dear ol' Santa
Always left the perfect toy
But now I pose a question
That is sure to drive you wild
Just who gave gifts to Santa
Back when Santa was a child ?

I really liked this piece which would be perfect to read to a child on Christmas Eve. Asking them this question would be interesting, to hear what a youngster would have to say.
