septum birthed september
latin seven, born and bred
but there's another meaning
that is something else instead
.
a partition twixt two chambers
be it nostrils or the heart
to separate the things
that really need to stay apart
.
perhaps it's a partition
keeping summer from the fall
but mother nature has a way
to melt away that wall

Neat writing, and a clever idea with 'septum'! I had a go on a series on the months of the year as a Collection, a few years ago. I became so aware each month of the variety and gradual nature of the changes, as you indicate here.

Is the latin seven 'septum' or 'septem'?
