we're often urged to "keep the faith"
but yet i'm filled with doubt
should faith exist to keep it in
or should we let it out
.
we bite the hand that feeds us
throwing God beneath the bus
should we have faith in God, you ask ?
should God have faith in us ?
.
the opposite of "faith" is "doubt"
or so, some folks believe
but i would answer "certainty"
for that's what i perceive
.
it seems that from the start of time
we've loved to fight and fuss
should we have faith in God, you ask ?
should God have faith in us ?
.
first, faith goes climbing up the stairs
that pure love had produced
then hope creates a window
where the truth can be deduced
.
but how can we be trusted
when we hate, make war and cuss ?
should we have faith in God, you ask ?
should God have faith in us ?

Many intriguing (and teasing?
Many intriguing (and teasing?) things here. I like the last but one verse, though still unsure exactly where you're coming from. Faith in God's Word, and the hope talked of in scripture are referring to certainties, but we sure need to take our doubts honestly to God, and his Bible.
Have you read 'Does God believe in Atheists?' by John Blanchard? You can google about it. Maybe he chose his title to tease in a similar way to you.
2 Timothy 2:13 says, 'If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot deny himself.' He knows our weakness, but can give us faith, and constancy.
Some rather rambling thoughts! Rhiannon
