SLEEPING IN A CAR

when i was just a baby

i am told i often cried

and the only way to stop it

was to take me for a ride

they'd toss me in the back seat

and before we'd gotten far

the gentle rocking motion

had me sleeping in the car

we'd go on long vacations

and just leave it to my pop

he always kept on moving

at motels, we'd never stop

to me, this was quite normal

never thought it was bizarre

i found it very easy

to be sleeping in a car

the passing years unraveled

and i often found success

but as the march of time went on

i found it less and less

when my home got too expensive

and these days, they often are

at least i was experienced

at sleeping in a car

Sweet sympathy for Mums soothing restless children, but a poignant twist. Not so easy to sleep in a stationary car! Rhiannon
