i raise my face up gently

to espy a glimpse of yours

and in that magic moment

something wonderful occurs

i feel such strong attraction

and it's upward that i stretch

i seek the warmth you offer

your bright rays i long to catch

but often times i wonder

if you see me here at all

i'm just one among the millions

so i stand up very tall

as i angle with my neck

to never lose the sight of you

upon your daily trek

you race between horizons

starting east and heading west

but when you're at your zenith
