i follow in the umbra
of the poets, long ago
who shared the thoughts inside their heads
so other minds might grow
.
these fables grew like forests 
full of multicolored trees
with branches darting everywhere
to thrill, delight and tease
.
i follow in the umbra
of the giants, carved in stone
and grow, quite surreptitiously
a garden of my own
