We need a hero
-
Whoever it may be it is surely not me;
I’m meticulous and thoughtful,
But my thoughts are weak and meaningless;
I am not a memorable figure, but plain and dull,
My courage relies on others not seeing
That I’m a thief of knowledge and hope and entirely ungrateful.
-
We are slowly toppling into a decline of which,
Being so low and self-centred
My view is for myself and my being,
Not of the troubles we have ventured
Or the peace we have sought but lost,
The opinion of me by my fellow man is, to small ears, censored.
-
My fears outweigh my valour,
But the pains that cripple me force me to act
To do what I must, no matter how frightful and chilling,
I will leave to scour the world and keep my pact
Of honour, and courage, something I’ve not known for many years.
I will search for those whose lives have been scorned and attacked.
-
Only those who know the pain can save us,
Only they can be the heroes the world needs
The heroes the world cries out for,
To whom we sob, broken and crying, we plead,
You can be the escape we need but fear, the rescue we call for but hide from,
With your mercy we might regenerate humanity, re-plant the seed.
-
We need a hero, who’s fear is for others and not them self,
A hero who actually cares for us and ignores our mistakes enough to care,
Not to care that we’re not aware, that we’ve given up and that we’re too proud to ask.
We need a hero.
