Hope has
- stronger legs than a marathon winner
- the memory of a person with amnesia
- the reforming ability of an habitual sinner
- the tenacity of a baby's grip on a finger.
Hope is
- a promise easily given but never kept
- a gift-wrapped parcel of disappointment
- the tears in the eyes waiting to be wept
- the lonely ache of a loving heart.
Hope is what you gave me.

i admit i don't usually like
i admit i don't usually like the format of this poem, yet you've managed not to keep on repeating the two first words.
the first stanza is stronger, the second not so good.
The sentiment throughout the poem is lovely.
shall look forward to seeing more...
maisie Guess what? I'm still alive!

Unusual I must agree. But enjoyable?
I only write sylabalic but I am moved by your effort to mirror my collapsed marriage?

Hope is what keeps us going
Hope is what keeps us going when all else seems lost. And even though it sometimes refuses to show its face in our darkest moments we know it is always there if we want it. Looking forward to more musings from your good self.
