When the wind calls your name
By my silent undoing
- 928 reads
When the wind calls your name,
Or I start to see your face in everyone.
That's when I know that I'm going crazy,
Not getting enough sleep.
Or just drinking too much,
Because I guess that that's been the problem
All along. The Trojan horse
That will be the downfall of my empire,
Or just Iago pouring his pestilence into my ear.
Sometimes, I don't know, I resolve
To make a change. Cut out all the detritus,
The deadwood, all the things that make things better
But are, in truth, no f*cking good.
Sometimes I fall asleep thinking that tomorrow
Will be different, only to carry on doing the same things.
Sometimes I fall asleep hoping I won't wake up,
Only to find myself here again
With the same mind. The same box of feckless tricks
And a heart that carries on beating whatever.
