Venus square Neptune

As I lay on the shores of Zanzibar,
Sweet breezes whispered in my ear.
The sound of the ocean drifted in
And out of my mind, like flotsam.
The scent of frangipane hung heavily in the air.
In the distance a pink cloud landed in the turquoise sea
Wings folded, it revealed itself to be a flock of flamingos.
I smiled at them as they rested their weary legs
And lay back in my hammock again.
I slipped into a dreamy sleep and thought of you, and I
Remembered how you said we would come here and
I had to agree it was a good idea.
Time passed, how much time I cannot say,
But let us say it was not much,
But it was enough. For then
I felt a jolt and suddenly I awoke.
And upon waking I was cold, and my head hurt.
I had bumped my head on the back of the seat.
Rain ran down the dirty windowpane,
And I was alone on the number 37.
And it was but a distant memory
Of a time that never was, but should have been.
