Poised tense against
Serrated edges of my teeth
This lacquered skin
Holds tight within
The pressure of
My downward bite,
Its darkest red
And plumpest black
Is printing with
The indentations
Of my lucky gap -
Until it splits apart
And jets curved juice
Into my ambitious mouth
Bringing me sharp and fast
Into the gaudy morning.
