The cave

Darkness covered the cave like an empty blanket and coolness tickled my spine.
Drip, drip, drip.
Hollow footsteps followed the stalactites' dripping. Something touched my shoulder, but I dare not let out a scream, remembering the reason I came here. Slowly, I turned, expecting to see my archaeologist partner standing there. Instead, I saw blackness.
"Keo?" I questioned.
No answer. Terror and coolness filled my body. I slowly tried to find the flashlight on my archaeologist belt. I grasped for my flashlight for a while, but all I found was an empty belt. What is going on?, my terror-gripped thoughts pounded at me. THUD! SPLASH! With that my feet ran to the opening of the cave. Realization struck that a stone was rolled infront of the opening. I banged, helplessly against the rock. Defeated, I lay there, confused and dazed.
Boom, Boom, Boom-Boom. Tribal drums filled my ears and I remembered my purpose of being here. A huge pay would go to the archaeologist who found the last of the totem poles left on the whole entire Earth. Chills and fear echoed through my body. Tears started to form. I screamed as the rock behind me moved out of the way. I put my hands over my eyes, expecting death.
Someones hand pulled my hands away from my eyes. I saw Chief Stirring Crow standing there. I felt confused at the fear I felt before. I could not remember why I was scared.
"Come on." My dad, the head warrior called.
"Yeah, you need to train for your warrior position." Chief Stirring Crow said, sounding annoyed at me.
I was disapointed at my fear and ashamed. I felt no reason why I should be scared and upsetting the chief.
"Here is your good luck totem pole." My dad called.
I ran into my favorite hiding place in the cave and hid it there.
Slowly, my world began to spin. A strange man was shaking me awake. Wait....wait...that is Keo! My partner in work! Archaeologist partner!
"You....you....just passed out...I can not find the totem pole...." Keo stuttered, sounding worried.
I ran over to where what seemed like my memory put the totem pole. The indian war cry echoed the cave as I found the totem pole right where the memory had led me to think it was.
Am I the only one that hears the tribal drums?, my thoughts raced.
