The wooden giraffe

I always wondered about the wooden giraffe that sat in my great grandfather's grand room. Most giraffes stand, my thoughts would tell me, but this one sits.
So one day, I gathered all my nerves, went over to my 90-year-old great grandfather and asked him "What is the story behind the giraffe?"
"Ah, I see, my little blossom. You want to know more about my giraffe?"
I nodded.
"I had a friend who came from Africa. He had lived there all his life, but he wanted to become a jazz singer. But, you see, he was an extraordinary man. The problem with him he is that he would always sit.
Me and my friend always went to our local zoo. The zoo had an elephant, five flamingos, and two giraffes. When I was young, we did not have all these fancy modern show-off common day stuff. I was, oh, about twenty years old. Me and my friend would always see the giraffes. He told me how in his family giraffes were treasured animals. He had told me how they symbolized good fortune because his Grandma loved giraffes. He went on and on about how lucky his grandma was. Whether that be from a nice house to nice meals, she had alot. That is why he was able to move here. And I was like 'Well, say. Why don't we make a wooden giraffe. Our friendship is lucky. Without you not throwing your band's sheet music all over the place and me helping you pick up the music, we would have never had met. God creates these little miracles for us. You always sit, so we can make the giraffe sitting'
Now, my great grandchild, you know the tale of the wooden giraffe."
"I love your great grandpa-pa!" I said, kind of under a trance from my great grandfather's story.
I went over to the 3-foot giraffe and took a selfie.
"Like I said, not the modern day show-off stuff." My great grandfather said, laughing.
