Early Snowflakes

Like the first flowers of Spring
early snowflakes stir the heart,
with tantalising beauty,
falling hypnotically
to a uniquely slushy death,
reminding me of the day you left
Oblivious to fate
these delightful diamonds
catch, reflect, and create
aesthetically perfect
Heaven-sent light
in my every day hell
Rescued on occasion,
prolonging nature’s wonder,
passing generous gusts
lend helping hands
with loud applause,
taking my heart for a ride
Raped by warm echoes
from the domineering South,
these crystalized angels
succumb to the inevitability
of transient, empty lives,
as I watch from the window
Beauty gone in the thaw,
reincarnation beholds,
together we rise to the clouds
and dance with the wind,
awaiting our chance
to do it all again

Hope you're still poppin' around here, 'Pesk (or should I say, SP...), 'cause I've just found yer arse again, I think, and I'll be quite disappointed if this is a dead end. Get at me, mate, and great poem. That second to last stanza is magic brutha, magic. -Johnny-
