The Legend of Old Pesky

When Old Pesky raised up more than his head
An angry editor filled him with lead
Pesky tumbled down his hole in the ground
Where deep within stirred a terrible sound
His missus caressed him close in her arms
Trying to wake him with persuasive charm
She hollered and howled, tears fell from her eyes
Then suddenly and to her great surprise
Old Pesky removed his bulletproof vest
Winked at his missus and tickled her breast
Tell me darling did you think I was dead
Well now I’m not shall we go back to bed
Procreating in typical fashion
The burrow rocked with sounds of hot passion
Their home was never the same thereafter
Due to the sounds of young bunny laughter
The kids soon grew and prepared to leave home
To seek out fortunes and forums to roam
With suitcases packed and passports in hand
They kissed mum goodbye as was her demand
That autumn morn with a northerly blowing
Pesky wept when his youngest was going
His missus consoled him and wiped off his tear
It’s alright darling we’ll have more next year
Old Pesky smiled and cuddled his missus
Squeezed her tightly and showered her with kisses
Never mind next year, I can’t wait till then
Let’s go to bed now, start the cycle again
