Sunshine and Raindrops

SUNSHINE AND RAINDROPS
She fled in pure splendor on wings of white gold,
my heart does surrender as the memories unfold.
Both sunshine and raindrops are falling from heaven, but teardrops and heartaches are reaping my soul.
With cute pixie eyes and a mischievous glance,
she runs through my mind in a picturesque stance.
Floating through air like a spectral sensation,
With her beauty and grace she could conquer a nation.
With the sparkle of diamonds and pearl dust in her hair, her lips were like butter and her skin was so fair.
We strolled through the night in a wonder of bliss, and by dawn’s early light I stole my first kiss.
The sensation of heaven and suns bursting wide,
gave me a feeling of such I can’t hide.
At the fading of darkness and dawn’s early light,
my heavenly lover took panic in flight.
I stand here in memory cold stone on my lips,
tracing the letters with numb fingertips.
Fifty long years I have missed her sweet charms,
for that night my sweet lover died in my arms.
Both sunshine and raindrops are falling from heaven, but teardrops and heartaches are reaping my soul.
