Atoms of Hope

To my eye, the sun and moon
are twins separated by the rhythm
of the distance of time, and being both
forces for change, perhaps we are all
made of equal parts of light and dark.
And under the hush of stars,
we will wait, where silence
might offer the gift of self -
long enough to find we are forged
from atoms of hope. Take a stone,
and polish it until it is a mirror;
until you see yourself
with the same kindness that others do,
that it is the same wind that rushes
across your face that creates the energy
of a wave, moves a leaf, carries
the perfume of a flower and the song
of a bird. It is so human to feel
it all when we are built of air and
water and music. So if it is night,
with only the quiet light of faraway
constellations, then they are ancient
promises, and we will wait.

" we are built of air and

This made me feel delicate and peaceful, like I was a better person. Thankyou for writing it. Will go and read it again :0)
