Different Worlds 2

He was her sun and her moon
She was his falling star
He'd caught her and put her in his pocket
She began orbiting his life
Becoming totally eclipsed by him
(Fallen stars should not be kept in pockets)
He was her sun and her moon
Pockets are strange and nebulous regions
Full of the space junk of a technological age
Paper and metal and bits of lint
Very boring really after a bit but
Pockets are safe places
You know where you are in a pocket
(down the pub mostly)
She knew he'd got used to her being
In a little corner of his world
At hand (so to speak)
That her going would leave a little black hole
Somewhere in the fabric of his life
And that a hole in your pocket
Can be a bit of a pain
He was her sun and her moon
She'd forgotten she was stardust
Until her longing to be free
Awoke her to the gravity of the situation
And one cold grey morn she left
He was her sun and her moon
But she just needed more
