Travelling back in time
To when this had not happened
Would be nice
But unless I can invent
A time machine
Unlikely

Unravelling the mess
Dealing with the tears
Dealing with the guilt
Dealing with the future
When all I want to do
Is climb under a duvet
And forget

Decisions I don’t want to make
Decisions I have to make
Damned either way

Unhappiness on all sides
Yet laughter still comes to visit
Me

There are the worse off
I am not starving
I am not in Zimbabwe
Or Sudan

Wanting to move
Yet wanting to stay
Having to deal with the
Unhappiness of others
Whatever decision I make

In years to come
I might even laugh about this
Maybe it will become an
Amusing anecdote
Involving secret text messages
Becoming public

Caught with my pants down

Hmm, I'm not sure i know what to make of this. I thought the opening feelings were very strong and I'm assuming it's somebody regretting an affair or a one night stand ... but then the title is Paddy Pantsdown, as is the final line, which doesn't really sound like something someone full of regret would say. That said, I liked the capture of emotions and the realisation that it's all relative (I'm not starving, living in Sudan etc) but somehow, knowing there are people fsr worse off, still doesn't make the situation any better. Overall, I liked it.
