We sit near the overpass
Under the umbrella of night.
The weight of the sky is in your voice
And I think it's love that's in your eyes.
I am only a kid, I'm not on a
First-name basis with Love. And yet
I can't help but wonder if that is what I feel
curling up like an old friend in my throat
When you speak the sky to me.
As if to say,
"Ah, I've been waiting for this."

There are a lot of love
There are a lot of love poems on here Paigeb, but this is perhaps the most original one I've read for some time. Very well written with some great lines in it;
I am only a kid, I'm not on a
First-name basis with Love
Being just one of them.
Great stuff.
