Crumbling,
Shredded wings flutter.
A dull shimmer on the bleak sky,
Churning the monochrome palate
Of the night.
Once silver,
I remember.
Regal paisleys,
Nacré velvet.
Now a faded tinge remains, like water damage.
A dusty carpet, frayed
And left to rot.
Blurrily he sways,
A dizzy rummaging silhouette.
Tired wings beat like ragged breaths.
The glimpsed light twists above,
The falling form forges on.
His path,
Ineffaceable -
The stirring of air.
