Blackbird

Hey blackbird
Quick little hops across the lawn
Clear eye
You move from grub to grub
A neat tug of your beak
Detached yet watchful
Do you see me in the window?
Do you hear the frantic engines?
Angry kids bringing a sense of sadness
Did you hear the screaming?
The driver at the junction
Hysterically shouting
Did you see the woman’s face?
Maybe
But after all, you’re a blackbird
Brown and sleek
Alert
Efficient
Adapted to your task

Blackbirds and others
I'm envious of a Blackbird's ability to blinker out sounds and distractions by sheer focus.
If I could do that I might be able to get some writing done!
This is a very lovverly poem and as usual delightfully observed
Cheers Kevin!

They are very deserved
They are very deserved cherries. Love your chat with a blackbird, and the lovely simplicity of your poem. No, I think they are far too busy to listen to us squawking the way we listen to them.

You have defined so much here
You have defined so much here, about how broken we are in comparison to Nature. All the blackbird words are what we admire in ourselves but in your poem we have anger and sadness, we are lost. Is really good poem
