The room’s an explosion of blooms. 

Starburst of petals,

frozen snapshot of life

condemned to lingering death,

leaves slowly dropping. 

Colour: sunflower yellow,

lovers’ pink

and midnight purple. 

Vibrant and lovely,

a beautiful thought

transmitted through ether

and Interflora. 

I cherish this emblem of you.

Hi Stan.  They still look gorgeous after nearly a week, though they have lost their youth.  They now have a mature and worldly countenance.  I trim them and change their water, as directed by those who know.  I feel a duty of care.  In return, they light up the room and make 5000 miles feel like 50.  Hope you're well.  Well done on the novel.  Will have a look.

I like it too, although I'm not going to click 'like' because that's not for me.  Keep the water nice, Evian I have been told is best.  Adding Aspirin is also recommended by others.
