My, oh my!
The Fourth of July
It’s time to celebrate!

Let’s raise a can
To Freedom
On this portentous date

We’ll call the virus
What it is
A short-lived aberration

And fill the streets
With partying
As one united nation

For soon the bars
Will open
The beer will start to flow

In time to toast
Our Freedom
With everyone we know

It sets a person
Wondering
What is that rancid smell?

Perhaps it’s just
The barbecues
The steaks and burgers sizzling

Or else the
Realisation that
We’re governed by a quisling
