The thoughts of a simple man
Passing under sodium lights at speed
Riding disaster on a precious film of air
A whole life vanishing behind and unfolding up ahead
Things could have been much worse and might with luck improve
A lorry eases out into the bitumen night – headlights searching
The hours that lie ahead might be years
It wouldn’t change a thing
Each road’s the same

A poetic analysis of a split
A poetic analysis of a split second in time. Fatalistic feelings well expressed.

You made me want to get on

You made me want to get on the road right now! Great metaphor for life too. Love the road at night and you made that image in its light and dark.
