The elephant

The elephant went to the zoo
To see what he could do
The keeper gave him a sweeping-brush
And told him to sweep up poo
The keeper couldn’t see
That the elephant had a Degree
But he knew that he was desperate
And would pretty-much work for free
The elephant swept the park
He worked till it was dark
While the keeper sat in the office
Thinking “Work? Sod that for a lark.”
The keeper was going nowhere
He was happy to sit in his chair
Looking down on the elephant
And plucking his nasal hair
The elephant left the zoo
Moved on to pastures new
The keeper found an orangutan
Who was willing to sweep up poo
The keeper arrived one day
Found the animals taken away
To a zoo in Eastern Europe
Where they sweep for lower pay

The way of the world. Lovely
The way of the world. Lovely nursery rhyme feel with, like all nursery rhymes, a deeper meaning. That first stanza particularly is a real earworm (do they have those at your zoo?).
