Of course it doesn't make sense;
it was never meant to.
Homerule (acknowledgement to JJ):
the myth of the soil.
It's why they didn't need experts;
nationalism: start, middle and end.
They don't need truths and hard facts;
it lives in the blood;
oaths, colours flying in the mind's breeze;
it's why they don't feel pain or embarrassment.
You won't win with reasoned arguments;
the only weapon is hindsight.
Too late for most of us then.
