Room change

Dragging my case around Purgatory
looking for a room. Purgatory is
a sprawling estate of buildings and
car parks, glass doors opening
to marbled lobbies with uniformed
guards, blazered receptionists,
helpful students leaving messages
telling of changes to new locations,
unconfirmed. Teachers and students
wandering walkways, service roads,
bridges with motorways roaring beneath,
endlessly searching for vacant rooms,
passing, re-passing, speaking on phones,
clutching folders and building passes
for headquarters seemingly yet to be built.
