Your heart is Africa
before the map
Your soul a nomad
following rain
Your emotions
are a wandering tribe
to whom
frontiers are mystery
A stifling dream
in foreign minds
that cannot comprehend
a spirit
born to wander free

I read a wonderful book
I read a wonderful book about Africa by Laurens Van de Post- you have captured some of the spirit here PT- I like the first 2 lines- introduces the poem grandly.

Dear Parson Thru, very much
Dear Parson Thru,
very much enjoyed reading your poem; especially loved the final statement "a spirit born to wander free", which pretty much summons up the feeling one gets whilst thinking about Africa - at least when one ignores the poor states of Africa.
Cheers
