This past year has got me so self aware
Slip up out of your comfort
And leave it somewhere
Although it seems the wind is ever present
And never blowing in the right direction
Every exception gives reason to care and..

Understand that we're going full speed ahead
Time lost its brake pedal in the wreck
And we age every time we open our eyes
So we'll close them and fake ignorance instead

The moon and sun fight for the sky
But we are fine with different types of light
It's hard to pretend that it's always been bright
But these bootstraps don't pull themselves up
So I guess it's up to us
