The following email was sent to all registered users of the new highly popular PowerTec PT005DR laptop three months after its release...
Subject: Congratulations on buying a new PowerTec PT005DR laptop!
Dear PowerTec user,
I hope you are enjoying your new PowerTec PT005DR laptop!
Your new PowerTec laptop is the most technologically advanced product of its type, and combined with its fantastic value, it has rapidly become the highest seller and therefore the most popular laptop on the market. However, due to a printing error, I must inform you that there is a small discrepancy in the technical specifications detailed in the literature provided with your product. On page 3 of the "PowerTec PT005DR User Guide, where it states that "the battery life is 45 hours, after which it is imperative your PowerTec PT005DR laptop is recharged for 9 hours before it can be further used," it should state that "the battery life is 35 hours, after which it is imperative your PowerTec PT005DR laptop is recharged for 9 hours before it can be further used."
Please accept our apologies for this minor error, and I hope it does not adversely affect your confidence in PowerTec or any of its high quality products.
Kindest Regards,
Leon Stenger
(PowerTec Communications Officer)

The following is an extract from the press release sent to all major technological publications prior to the general release of the PowerTec PT005DR...
'...The PowerTec PT005DR laptop employs cutting edge technology, including the new USBr3 V2.4 connection protocol, which enables users to plug the machine directly into their brain, via a BioIntuitive Patch which directly interfaces with the user's spine. Attempts by some of PowerTec's competitors to discredit this highly effective new technology have been overcome by the pre-sales consumer confidence, demonstrated by a record number of advance orders of this pre-eminently powerful machine. The USBr3 V2.4 connection protocol will vastly increase the processing power of the PowerTec PT005DR, such that it will run at speeds approximately 20 times that of its predecessor. It will also eliminate the need for input devices such as mouse or keyboard, although such devices can still be used if required. Despite fears to the contrary, as long as the PowerTec PT005DR laptop is kept fully charged, there is absolutely no danger of the USBr3 V2.4 connection protocol causing any damage to the spine, brain or nervous system...'

The following article was published on page 26 of 'Laptop Users Monthly' three days before the aforementioned email was sent...
Death by Laptop?
PowerTec user, James Smith, mysteriously died while patched to his PT005DR. Forensic BioTechnologists found that the laptop had been in constant use for 37 hours without being recharged. PowerTec are claiming no responsibility for what a spokesperson calls "a tragic accident," claiming that "it must have been a powersurge or something." Mr Smith is the third person this week to have died under similar circumstances.
