The Night King’s phone rang. ‘The Wife,’ it said on the screen. He rolled his scary blue eyes and answered it.
“Where are you?,” said the Night King’s wife.
“I am at The Wall,” said the Night King.
“You mean the pub on the High Street?”
“Um... yes.”
“Get back home, your tea’s ready.”
“But darling, I have plans.”
“Don’t talk to me about your so-called ‘plans.’ The last time you had ‘plans,’ the whole continent was covered in ice.”
“That was my plan.”
“And what good did it do anyone?”
“It made me happy, my angel. Do you begrudge me a little happiness?”
“Not at the expense of my begonias.”
“I promise I’ll keep your begonias out of it.”
“That’s what you said last time.”
“It will be different this time.”
“How can I ever trust you again?”
“What if I promise you the head of Jon Snow?”
“What’s the point of that?”
“It just seemed like the right thing to say.”
“Home! Now!”
“Yes, dear.”
But the Night King had no intention of going home… yet.
