Guy

In a black and white photo
you hold my hand
in another cradle me gently
a sensitive lad
as teens we collided
we swerved
then united
we both held resentments
we both held our dreams
you're alike said our mum..
with your secrets and lies
with those fragile emotions
you've learned to disguise
as adults we struggle
to maintain a word
at family functions
I'm barely heard
we both reached our goals
our dreams were fulfilled
leading separate lives
our likeness was killed
you've underfloor heating
a six figure job
a trio of children
a sexy new hob
I can't compete now
I'm not in the league
our unspoken feuding
has reached a new segue..
this silent vendetta
the doors you close on me
the words you ignore
you won't look beyond me
Guy, what can I do?
I do what I can
and keep my mouth shut..
let Hope be my plan
