Snow
P K Routray
(1)
Clad in white
dazzling with light
spotless and bright
extra ordinary at sight
immaterial whether day or night
the nature remains at its sparkling height.
But our summer gives us humidity and heat’s plight,
Our Imagination on your wintry snow gives us poetic delight.
(2)
Even so
doubts grow
your cold snow
with cold wind blow
the weather turning foe
causing weal and woe
pushing mankind to throe
to the furry of chill, do not you bow?
Like us in summer, because of snow do not you lie low?
(3)
Know not we,
show only we see,
blow of cold wind there we get here the chill,
how do you feel?
Aglow must be the earth reflecting the sun.
Flow over must be your frolic and fun,
throw you must the light
how do you fun or fight?
Bow we thee for withstanding the cold
plough how do you the land under your hold
Owe we to the mother earth
snow or summer, its wrath or our mirth.
