Can you lend me the ocean
share with me the red of rivers successively deep
or let me just be happy if smiles are yours to give.
I saw this face today a strangers
wearing a hat of symbolic shame.
I thought she knew me, in my dishevelled gown and all
as she sang me a song, full of forgotten belief
hollow sounding on the winds calling for my obscurity.
So sad that I never got to recognise the child’s innocence in me
some say that the truth rises on each mornings trace of light
such complicated beginnings
on the wings, of wild-born flight.

A Mystical and whimsical tale. Has an Arthurian feel.
