2 texts and the phone still has'nt rang

2 texts and
10 o’clock and still no call
The Segway music
Bled into the end of the radio
Sermon, reminding me of how we fitted together
You light like music,
Me serious as thunder and God’s voice.
Still that’s how you said you liked it
As I stimulated the parts of you
That had never been touched.
I felt good about that
As I felt your need as passionately
As my need for Christ himself.
But this was something different
And I identified my reasoning
By a different force.
The emotion was the same,
But my cereberal cortext was in nuteral
And my heart was engaged to yours.
So you was at asda
With your mum
And boy could she shop…
You wasn’t sure what the experience was going to be like
Like a country you had never visited
But was told about by a familiar friend.
I think your mum liked shopping as it got
Her out and about…so she was inclined to take her time
Bless her…
But you where seriously stressed
And I felt it even before I answered the phone…
Still with my tactful approach
I quieted your storm…
When I said you where a rough diamond
That was still in transition…
I had just put the last full stop on the poem
I had written for you
And could'nt wait for you to return
Home.
Where both of us
Could make love on the phone
In peace again.

Such an engaging narrative
Such an engaging narrative and an unusual voice, both wise and naive. I like the image of Asda. The few technical errors jar in this effortlessly gliding poem: 'diamond, n't.'
