Painting pictures, a world view

You once observed the Sahara
Through bifocal binoculars
The image you cued like an artist
With your swollen thumb
And with this you painted
Your master piece
Stole great walls from china
As you sip tea from cylone
Ever ready to curse the piece to hell
You saved it and carefully
Painted over the cracks
Your muse left on your heart.
With Nails you drive deep into canvas on wood
Relentlessly shaping an opaque torso from rock
Your mind drifts over canals
In Venice you admire the view
from afar
Hands slender and painted
The Nails desiring attention
You portray her drinking
Expensive champagne
From tall glasses
Her mouth moist
And desirable like
The paint on your bristles
You know best what to do
When winter comes and Siberia
Closes its iron doors
To dreams of culture in
Western hemispheres
You study the morphology of eastern European women
Shape your models in understated designer wear
A cigarette burns slowly in an ashtray
And the coffee smells good in the pot
Whilst all the time Amsterdam looks lovely in spring
The windmills blow wind through your hair
Just the legs now
You put all your passion
Into fashioning
The view from your towers
Look daunting, but amazing too
As you anticipate those
Who would climb and steal you seat
you prove to be just formidable in omnipotency
Just the eyes are proving difficult
To stop following you
No matter where you stand
You sit crossed legged arms folded
Amongst the aristocracy in London’s
Elite quarters
Throw pennies and caution to
Those sitting in the streets
A myriad of opportunities
Mark your pallet
A rainbow of people
Hear your voice
