Fine line

Its a fine line that you’re walking
between this world and the next.
We could talk until tomorrow,
for the question’s really vexed.

First lets understand the question,
what’s life for and will it end?
Is there a point to all this suffering?
Will I find a life long friend?

You are gazing in a mirror when
answers come out of the blue.
As you turn to greet the speaker
you’re surprised to see it’s you.

These eyes contain a sparkle
and the words begin to shine.
You briefly glimpse the future
as you travel back in time.

Your past lives are now gathered,
they’re not all of a kind.
Some guide you to the future
some help you look behind. .

They may possess the route map,
a compass and a plan.
But they are often thwarted
by the free will of man.

Free will can be an engine,
the power and the fuel.
Or a deeply trodden furrow,
from a never ending duel.

Your life long friends surround you
their purpose, it is plain.
They seek your education
without any thought of gain.

They celebrate achievements,
and occasionally they look,
to see how you are doing
in the Akashic book.

When you feel their breath behind you
Take some time to look around.
For the purpose of existence
is contained within their sound.
