A time of contradictions

It’s a time of contradictions,
the past and future all in line.
It is hard to keep on doing,
what you’ve been doing all this time.
The air is full of expectation,
the street is clothed in snow.
There is spring around the corner,
when the shoots will really show.
But the buds that are emerging
from within, are fragile still.
But secure in their conviction,
that they represent God’s will.
You can’t predict the future,
for that’s not the gift of man.
But you can welcome the present,
and savour what you can.
For the next step is advancing
and your cloak it must be laid,
across the puddle of resistance.
No fear must here pervade.
For the stem that’s is emerging,
has it’s root in ancient soils.
It’s strength and light and beauty
will reveal as it uncoils.
For now your tender duty,
is to water it with love.
To place it in the elements
that issue from above.
