"Today I’m in a temple
there are pillars all around.
This voice is gently speaking,
his teachings he propounds.
He explains this book was written
before the pen was in my hand.
If we continue as we we’re going
we’re doing everything as planned."
Ah yes, but mapping out potential
is just a simple act.
It does not mean, when man is born
he’ll stick to that compact.
For free will is the gift of man,
and rightly it is so.
His purpose is a burden,
one which we cannot bestow.
Until, that is, he asks us,
for some context to his life.
Begins to look beyond him,
for the point to all his strife.
But even then his ears,
are tuned to coarser sounds.
It’s his heart that is our doorway,
where quiet love is found.
Forgiveness is our trademark,
understanding to the core.
But your layers of resistance
can be difficult to bore.
For guilt and fear form metal bars,
that a prison make.
It takes an act of courage,
to make a clean escape.
Freedom can be scary,
when the light first ventures in.
This light it casts no shadows,
reaches to the soul within.
The soul like a flower bud,
welcomes in this warm sunlight.
It breathes a sigh of freedom,
and shudders with delight.
