The Fool that Falls in Love

Yes, there are more important things than love to be had,
Like water and air and bread
But what does one fool do when he has had toast to eat,
Sparkling water to drink, and filtered air to refuel his each breath?
He falls in love.
There are mountains to be scaled and rivers to be swam,
Battles to wage and lands to be claimed
Yet what does a fool do when he is neither adventurous
Nor abides an animal within him to be tamed?
He falls in love.
There are seas to be parted and ill tidings to be delivered,
And the Word of God to be received and heard
So what does a fool do when he is too fond of his comfort
And has neither serviced His Lord nor wishes to be served?
He falls in love.
So when the opportune day arrives, and he finds his mate
For whom he has battled (from the comfort of his home) past every hurdle and cornered each strife,
Our fool falls in love, his heart set to be plucked from upon his glove
Which the receiver then drops and shatters, making him realize the biggest mistake of his life
He fell in love.
