Belonging.

Tell me of a raindrop bursting through the sky,
Joining with a river that's gently passing by.
Gathering up its strength when it breasts the mountainside,
tumbling over rock and stones until it joins the tide.
Swept amongst the estuary, where seagulls fly with glee
through runnels of the sandy slopes until it joins the sea.
Tell me of a snowflake, it's perfection and it's form.
The harbinger of winter, pulled earthwards by the storm.
Its lifespan lasts a moment as it falls upon the ground
lies waiting with its kinsfolk as they bond without a sound.
Each crystal drop of beauty weaves a blanket falling down,
Whiteness covers all it meets, forest, field and town.
Tell me of a sunbeam as it passes through the cloud,
though it tinges just the slightest edge, it lifts the darkest shroud.
It paves the way for other, as they try to pass their way,
through the greyest of the shadows to burst into the day.
Torn ragged into tatters, the bleakest sky must flee,
Sunlight casts it's benediction, whole and warm and free.
Tell me of a flower, whose roots are dark and deep,
tormented by the chilliest frost, it's soul lies fast asleep.
Kissed by a breeze that hints of spring, the flower tries to wake,
Yearns for the light, but trapped by frost, the solid ground won't break.
It's struggles send out ripples that passes one by one,
The ground gives way, the flowers bloom to meet the rising sun.
So tell me once again, dear friend, the lessons I must learn,
how one small spec of life can change the course of life in turn,
A bond of fellowship and friendship is a treasure to behold
It's worth is priceless, it's message clear, it's worth is more than gold.
Don't cast away your worth, my friends, like a ripple in a pond,
the presence of your passing by, will echo far beyond.
