So Rooney is in. Stand by for fireworks. Ones that soar and shimmer, or the ones that explode in your face.
We will see.
Went out tonight and I needed it. Bad day at work. Staff want more cash and are talking to the union. They do need more money and I'll back them always. But I have had too many fights of late. The entire world and me! Its all a great score draw at the moment.
Might have to bring on my surprise striker.
So tonight. It was 'What's Cooking'. Just round the corner in Leytonstone. I went with my new best friend Chaney and her band mate Gus. Apparently I am their new manager. I want to do it and I can. Do I need the grief though? They are great and she sings like an angel. She is also beautiful, and through circumstance, we have become close of late. We talk everyday and have secrets.
I need to get my PR guru Becky involved.
Paul came along as well. It's a bit tricky that one. I am supposed to move in with him in a couple of weeks, but he wants to blow me out and move to Lewisham. This is not good news. I exchange contracts on Friday. I tell him that I'll pay the full rent for a couple of months until he is straight. He isn't biting and I feel that I am fucked. I am not moving from Walthamstow though. I have learned to love it. The stance and the new coolness of the place are so lovely. I'm going to tough it out. I have the Lisa option, (my colleague at work has a spare room with a sunny disposition), so nothing is lost just yet. I'm pissed off at Paul but I won't let that spoil our friendship. He means a lot to me, and I him.
The band was great tonight. It was Steve Hooker. I know him from my old Southend days. He is a pal of that old fucker Phil Burdett. They gave it the full Essex R&B. Great guitar mixed with estuary hogwash.
Had a bit of a dance when the DJ came on. Me and Chaney twirling to 'Needle in a Haystack'. We both got the irony.
I kept teasing Paul that he will miss all this when he moves to South London. That it's a place full of charlatans and idiots. He was having none of it. He is young and he will learn.
I emailed my friend Miss Lewis today, (she breaks the south London rule by a country mile) and we will meet soon I hope for a beer and a chat. She's a good one as my Mum used to say. I've always known that. She should move up here. They would like her in this neck of the woods. Even though she supports Southampton.
I reckon Australia will be the surprise team of the tournament.
Till tomorrow.
